L’OCCITANE

La vie est belle

Life is beautiful

nyc day 2

Day two consisted of frolicking about the streets of NYC. Today was our Blair Waldorf day and I would say we accomplished exactly that. From macarons at Laduree, taking a walk through Central Park (minus Dorota) to sitting on the steps of the Met and indulging in a lovely facial from L’Occitane, we had a day that Blair herself would approve of.

Because the streets of New York are anything but warm around this time of year I opted for some thick tights (I actually wore two… tights on tights on tights) AND fuzzy socks. I find that if I keep my feet and fingers warm that is enough to trick the rest of my body into thinking that it’s warm. I found this adorable feminine yet flirty dress at Oasap Limited  (currently sold out but here is a similar style).

Hold up wait a minute let me put my two cents in it. This blazer, THIS amazing blazer… (take a seat…story time) so there I was perusing JC Penny thinking hmm I wonder if there is anything cute in the old lady section for mum, lo and behold I found this Liz Claiborne blazer for a steal originally $70 for like $3.75 (umm okay you can stand up now)… and kept it for myself because generally when I’m shopping for other people that’s what happens. Here is a black and blue floral one, not as long and to be honest, just not as cool. To add to the Blair Waldorf vibes I opted for some simple black leather gloves… with gold studs because between you and I, I’m actually more the Serena type and I like to add a little touch of edginess where I can. Nicole is wearing a faux fur vest with red pants and adorable quilted booties. She really is the Blair Waldorf out of the three of us, she even topped it off with this adorable little hat. To take this look to a whole different level, try a fascinator, the feathers and mesh in this this one speaks for itself.

Cassi on the other hand, since we’re going with the Gossip girl theme, generally channels her inner Vanessa vibes but she is rocking some mad heels with this gorgeous flared dress. She tied the look together with a blazer and added a gold ear cuff for edginess. Similar dress here or give this gorgeous crystal fringe gold cuff a try.

After our mini photoshoot we finally made it to our destination which was L’Occitane En Provence. I received an e-mail from Influenster a few weeks ago that mentioned facials and a special gift for Influensters. I called and made an appointment when we were in New York and they were kind enough to make it for three so off we went! #bloggerprivileges. The store front was adorable, and the snacks were delicious. The products smelled heavenly and my favorite was the rose petal perfume, I bought the solid because I have always wanted to try a solid perfume instead of a spray. Let me just say, I rubbed some on my wrists this afternoon and several hours later I am still catching subtle scents of rose. I *clap am *clap in *clap  love, my only regret was not buying two. We walked out with our purchase and a few new products to try, thank you L’Occitane! Our skin was glowing so much that we were happy enough to walk around the city for a bit without makeup.
