FITNESS TIPS (FOR BEGINNERS)

There is so much information out there that some of you who might be thinking about starting a fitness journey, feel stuck in your fitness journey or need some new insight might find this helpful. I’m narrowing it down to a few things that you should pay attention to when starting your journey in the video below! Fitness tips (for beginners)

If you’re just starting out 20 minutes of cardio a day five days a week is a good place to start then kick it up a notch. When we break a sweat our brain releases feel good endorphins and feel goodies spread everywhere, so no matter how stressed you are, sad, tired etc. working out is a great way to make you feel better. No one has every worked out and said man I regret doing that, burning calories is such a drag.

Carbs are essential for providing energy to our bodies without them you might as well be a zombie. There are two types of carbs simple and complex. Guess which one of these suck, not all carbs are created equally. Simple carbs are as good as cardboard. Simple carbs release too quickly in our bodies causing sugar highs and crashes so we get hungry faster and eat more. Complex carbs release gradually which give us a steady source of energy so we feel full longer.

Think of simple carbs white flour, pasta, rice and sugar. For some silly reason food manufacturers thought we wouldn’t like food unless is was white and soft #pillsburydoughboy. When you eat complex carbs you’re eating more natural grains where the nutrients and vitamins and minerals haven’t been stripped away to achieve the colour. Just pay attention to how your body feels when you eat certain foods.

Sugar is like crack and I myself have been a victim, crack crack crack crack crack just kidding drugs are bad don’t take drugs, do drugs, do you do drugs or take drugs? Not sure either way, don’t do it! Check your labels for where sugar could be lurking. Excess amounts of sugar are stored in the liver as glycogen and when the liver is too full guess where those fatty acids go? Hips stomach thighs and bum. Try agave nectar or syrup as a healthy sugar alternative or forego sprinkling that stuff on your oatmeal all together, I’ve heard good things about Stevia Stevia good Equal bad.

What you can take away from this for starters, (the video puts it all together) working out for any amount of time per day is better than nothing, progress is progress no matter how small. Making sure you know what types of food you are putting into your body is essential sure make sure you educate yourself and read those food labels okay?
