“Be patient with yourself, nothing in nature blooms all year.”
Spring is such a lovely time of year, flowers are blooming, trees and people start to regain their colour. Everything is coming to life, everything to include my wardrobe. I tend not to stray too much from my seasonal colour palette, which is always black, nude, white or tan. Neutrals are my best friend and while I do enjoy wearing red plaids and soft pinks from time to time. I tend to stay true to my preferred style with each outfit post, but every once in a while I find a bright piece that I want to tie in with my #ootd.
Once you’ve found your personal style and you’re comfortable with it, you’re able to curate a closet filled with favourite pieces and items you love. Building a wardrobe capsule is the perfect start. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I suggest heading to your local boutique, the mall and even a few stores online to start shopping for winter. Those sale racks are your best friends when trying to save money. Remember;
“Fashion fades, but style is eternal.”- Yves Saint Laurent
Fashions come and go. I’m going to let you in on a little fashion secret, those bell bottom jeans, choker necklaces, off the shoulder tops and crop tops that you’re seeing everywhere now, those have all been in stores before. They just so happen to be trending again, so wearing “last seasons” sweater is really nbd.
Finding your personal style couldn’t come at a better time! While the world around us is changing, why not change up a few pieces in your wardrobe. Sales associates are always more than willing to help, most are working there because they already have a passion for fashion and hey that mannequin didn’t style itself did it?
I’ve realised that I don’t go into detail about my outfits too often but today I thought I would try something different.
I walked into my closet and knew I wanted to wear a dress today so I headed to my dress section and went with something flowy, comfortable yet chic. Instead of belting it like I normally would with looser pieces I decided to continue the trend and layered with something just as flowy to give off that effortless boho vibe. To tie it all together I opted for neutral shoes a neutral bracelet and for a splash of colour to match the shawl a blue bracelet. Since I had chunky earrings on I skipped the long necklace, but that could also be an option. Creating an outfit can be as easy as that! It just takes some time to build a wardrobe that you love, you just have to trust yourself.
