Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to Neshotah Beach. It is a beautiful little section of Lake Michigan located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. For my local blog readers who are looking for something fun to do this Summer this is a perfect place to just getaway from it all. There is ample room for biking, playing volleyball and soccer but we decided to lay on a blanket, listen to the waves, eat food annnd nap.
The water was clear, the skies were beautiful and for a little while I forgot where I was. We packed a [healthy] picnic lunch which if you follow my snapchat [missjodik] or instgram [jodikayedwards] you are very well aware that 1. seagulls were trying to eat our food and 2. It was french bread with roasted pine nut hummus and tomatoes with a side of grapes. It was light and delicious, perfect for a lazy day at the beach.
For fun outings like this one I like to keep my outfits easy yet chic. I finally found my look-for-less, off the shoulder top similar to the Zara shirt that has been sweeping the shoulders of many since it came out. Thanks to Instagram my thirst was real. I was so excited when I found a similar top at Old Navy for less than half the price [hellooooo savings]. I kept the accessories simple by opting for stone gem earrings, and white sandals from Forever 21 which are not documented here because this was an impromptu photo op. I brought along my current go to scent, Ralph Lauren Tender Romance for a quick refresher spritz. It’s flirty and fun yet sweet and subtle, which always goes well with sand and beach waves.

We are planning a real getaway soon, just working out the final details but this was perfect for the weekend. It was a much needed mini getaway. I feel so refreshed!
