BROOKLYN

Our last day in New York (I’m breaking it up into two parts because we covered so much ground) we went to the Brooklyn Flea Market and found some goodies. Seriously everything was so cute and vintage, if my suitcase wasn’t already over 50 pounds, I would have crammed it full with so many of these little gems and by little gems I mean fur coat and vintage Louis Vuitton shoes.

I did manage to find two actual little gems however. Ever since I was a little girl watching The Secret Garden, I developed this love for keys. I love just how much mystery there is behind a key and as you know on my lifestyle blog I am all about positive vibes. I am a firm believer that you truly do hold the key to your own life and you can open the doors or close any door your choose.

I am definitely not a key collector, but when I come across a really unique one I think of a way to add it to jewelry or my home decor. I can’t wait to turn the large one into a necklace or spray paint it to have it sit on my mirrored tray. The other one I will be placing on the wall as a hook and the J is perfect because well Jodi starts with J *hair flip.

The trip across the Brooklyn Bridge was gorgeous, there was so much to see and for someone with an artistic eye, my brain was overwhelmed by all the great angles. The way the sky seemed to become one with the buildings and the muted colors of it all was just so magical. It was definitely a sight I could never get sick of seeing over and over again. Of course playing tourist we went against our better judgement in the freezing cold and high speed winds, but it was our last day and was on our list of things to see! Luckily there was a Starbucks right across the way so we could defrost before continuing our adventures for the day. Have you been to New York? What are some of your favorite places to visit, eat, shop? Until next time!

  2. This trip looks amazing! I’ve never been to Brooklyn but would love to go. The flea market looks awesome and is up my alley. Growing up I loved The Secret Garden and also have a fondness for vintage keys. I love your outfit and look forward to reading the next post!
